Delve is launching a global data gathering exercise to monitor and record specific COVID-19 impacts on the artisanal and small-scale mining sector. Delve is inviting any interested partner to participate in this data collection exercise.
Delve is leading on the development of a standardized survey instrument along with data collection protocols for use by interested partners. The intention of the data collection exercise will be to provide monthly snapshots on specific ASM geographies on the impacts of COVID-19 on: (i) mineral supply chains; (ii) health and safety; (iii) food security; (iv) human security (in select geographies); and (v) gender. Snapshots will run monthly and be featured on the Delve website. Data is intended to inform medium to long term responses to ASM following COVID-19.
Delve encourages any individuals and institutions with capacity and access to local networks in the ASM sector to join this collective initiative. An introductory call to coordinate interested parties and provide more information on this initiative is being organized for May 8th.
To express interest in learning more about the data collection exercise, please complete the Expression of Interest form by COB May 7th in order to join the coordinating call.
