Bio

Akintayo is an ASM practitioner and entrepreneur with thirty-three years of field experience in the trading and mining of Industrial minerals (barite, kaolin, gypsum, beryllium and mica), metals (tantalite, tin, columbite and lead-zinc), and gemstones (topaz and tourmaline). He is also a researcher in the sustainability of the artisanal and small-scale mining sector with several studies and publications to his credit. Presently, he is a doctoral candidate with research interest in assessing the impact of ASM on mining communities. A passionate advocate for the promotion of the sustainability of the sector, he is committed to sharing his expertise and knowledge with other practitioners in the sector.
